Speed
Download and upload throughput are estimated from timed transfers to Cloudflare's public speed-test endpoints.
A STRAIGHTFORWARD CONNECTION CHECK
Check the connection you're using now. See your speeds, response times and how things change when the line is busy.
We'll check download, upload and how quickly your connection responds.
TotalNET runs browser-based checks against public services. Results describe this device and its current connection; they are not a guarantee of performance everywhere in your home.
Download and upload throughput are estimated from timed transfers to Cloudflare's public speed-test endpoints.
Small HTTP requests are timed while idle and during transfers. This is a browser-level measurement, not an ICMP ping.
Repeated requests show how often the test endpoint responds within the timeout. Failed requests are not the same as packet loss.
DNS-over-HTTPS, IPv4 and IPv6 reachability, the Cloudflare edge code and network ASN are checked where available.
For a representative result, pause large downloads, use a device connected directly to your router where practical, and repeat the test at different times. Wi-Fi signal, router load, device performance and your ISP's network can all affect the outcome.
No account or sign-in is required. Recent test history is stored in this browser's local storage and can be cleared from the Recent tests menu.
Test trafficSpeed and response checks send requests to Cloudflare's public test endpoints. DNS timing uses Cloudflare's DNS-over-HTTPS service. IPv4/IPv6 checks use ipify.
Approximate locationAfter a test, the page requests an IP-based location estimate from IPWho.is to place an approximate marker on the map. It is not GPS and does not identify an exact address. If that lookup fails, the map is omitted.
Saved historyUp to 30 completed results are saved locally on this device. TotalNET does not receive that history through its application.
Third-party servicesCloudflare, IPWho.is and ipify receive the requests needed for their respective checks. Their own infrastructure and privacy policies apply.
TotalNET is a straightforward browser-based tool for checking an internet connection and exploring the measurements behind the headline speeds. It aims to show what was measured, explain the limits, and leave the interpretation with you.
